As the new semester starts soon, also new scholarship programs start. We are pleased to welcome guests of ACT & University of Freiburg at ABI.

Joseph Kwadwo Asuming is a PhD candidate at the Department for Religion of the University of Ghana working on his disertation "Religion and Peacebuilding in Ghana's Fourth Republic". He is hosted at the University of Freiburg by professor Klaus Baumann.

Aseye Tamakloe is a film maker and PhD candidate at the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana. Under supervision from professor Akosua Adomako Ampofo, she writes her dissertation in African Urbanities on the topic "Order and Chaos; A Cinematic Reading of Urbanism in Ghanaian Cinema from 1980 to 2010".

Dr. Femi Oladele from Nigeria comes as part of the Rising Stars Programme to the Freiburg Institute for Basic Income Studies (FRIBIS). Accompanied by Tobias Jäger, PhD student of Economics, he works on the topic of cash transfers in Nigeria. They are particularly interested in the aspect of political patronage and its influence on the targeting of cash transfer programmes.

Prof. Dr. Chikodili Collins Ajibo from the Faculty of law at the University of Nigeria joins as Senior Fellow Africa the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS).
