Intra-African Migration: Ideas for the Development of a new Heinrich-Böll-Foundation Focal Point on Migration

The Heinrich-Böll Foundation (hereafter HBS) is interested in developing a new focal point on Intra-African migration in their Nairobi office from 2021 onwards. The focal point will be on Intra-African migration, which in addition to another stream on migration towards Europe will make up the new HBS migration hub. In preparation for this new development, the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute (under the lead of Dr Franzisca Zanker) has been asked to develop some preparatory conceptual and thematic ideas of the new focal point. The report – which follows – has been reviewed by two external experts – Dr Mary Setrana (based in Ghana) and Joyce Takaindisa (based in Zimbabwe). Their recommendations are included in this final version.
