Advisory services for the Results-based Monitoring (RBM) System

In the framework of a project of the GIZ concerning the “support to Development Planning in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan” aiming at providing basic public services in the region, Justine Hunter, a research associate at the ABI, advised the GIZ on the establishment of an effect-oriented monitoring system. By means of qualitative survey methods as well as focus group discussions and semi-structured interviews, estimations and perceptions by involved actors and partners were incorporated in the conception of the system. This is important in a context shaped by conflict, fragility and violence, yet a methodological challenge. The developed system has been processed as a practical example for the method pool of the GIZ.
